We thought this was just standard brown algae growing for the past 3 days. Today I spotted these bubbles. Are we in trouble? Is this Dino’s?

First tank so first thought was the “ugly phase”.

Yes, luckily your tank is a nano, scrubbing the rocks and vacuuming the sand as much as possible, a few times a day if you can…Uv if possible too.

it has brown stringy slime, looks like dino to me! how was the no3 and po4 from this tank? dino happens in my tank in 2022, wiped out all of my high end acropora colonies, then i have try tons of treatments but nothing works till i move to new home in Jan 2023, bring all alive lps and soft cortals into a new tank with new water in new house, dino seems disapeared for whole year of 2023, now when i start sps in 2024, they came back in killed all sps frags right away! it can fallow me for more than 2yrs, WHAT A FRICKING EVIL DEVIL!

Nitrate at 10ppm
Phosphate at 0

The tank is 2mo old.

I got a new light 1 week ago and started seeing the growth shortly after. I’ve had the light at 25-35% (don’t have a PAR reader)

Yes it is and I got it too, and I also got a 27 watt UV that's going online this evening and we're going to kick the crap out of this stuff.

So I’ve been running UV for 2 weeks now. Nothing changed. And now I believe (maybe) I’m seeing some cyano growth? I tried to just take care of it manually by brushing the rocks and water changes. But it seems to be getting worse.

Any ideas? I’d rather not go the chemical route but Im willing to.

These photos are after doing a cleaning and water change 2 days ago.
