I had a YWG / Tiger shrimp pair for the past two years. About 6 months ago, I had an accidental rockslide while doing a water change, and unfortunately crushed the tiger shrimp.
The Goby is still happy and cruises the entire tank, retreating to his tunnels whenever he feels overly threatened.
I miss the shrimp "buddy" effect, I just do not know if adding another shrimp (tiger, pistol, or similar) is a good idea...
Do the commensal shrimp/goby pairs do okay of one of the pair changes? Do you think since the YWG has been without a shrimp buddy for 6 months that it would no longer want a "burrow-buddy?"
