I think they're sponges. Yes? Or, having checked out other threads before asking this, are you going to make me touch them to see if they're squishy?
Backstory: we adopted a tank whose rock was covered with Cyano and hair algae. I got tired of scrubbing and said "#'* it, I'll never win against all this Cyano", and just left the rocks in the sun for a few weeks to let it all die. I scrubbed the dead stuff off. Now... These appear a month or so after getting wet again... (Ironically, they're only on the rock I inherited with the tank, not rock from the store).
Does that change your answer? I gotta touch them, don't I?
