Awesome thread. Great advise I will keep an eye on mine this weekend when I add more mars aqua fixtures in my canopy as some of the fixtures I got used so dont know how old they are but to be able to change up the colors myself without buying new fixtures would be great.

@LostInTheDark , I'm not sure if it's universal, but the LED beads I purchased (as well as the old ones coming off), had their negative side marked. I didn't have to use a battery (or multimeter) to determine polarity. My board was also clearly marked with the positive and negative sides.

You can see the little negative punch-out just to the right of the bead.

Good stuff!!!
Interesting. I've never noticed a knock out on the negative side. I'll take a look when I get a chance. Between spring yard cleaning and returning to school after 28 years, I am pretty darned busy with every thing but my fish tank right now.

Great thread. I've had mine for about two years now and they are holding up fine. This is great for future reference and possibly for swapping out some of the whites with blues sooner.

I checked mine last night only the blues were on and I can see some are on but really dim on 1 fixture already priced them and hes right for the price I am going to just do them all. Might save me some money since I run purple actinic t5 with mine. I can just swap out some for purple led (420NM) I think is the spectrum. That way I can remove the t5 and use a little less power

Just checked. Mine don't have any markings that i could see. That would have saved a lot of time if they were.
