I could use some help with an ARID Reactor I bought from another reefer a while back. The model is a E18. I could use some help hooking it up to my GEO calcium reactor. The ARID reactor has connection for effluent line but I'm not certain if ARID feeds the CR, or vice versa. There is very little info available on the web so any help is appreciated.

Not exactly sure on the details of that specific algae reactor set up, but I would imagine that you would want the CaRx effluent line to feed into the ARID reactor, as the excess CO2 in the CaRx effluent would be beneficial in supplementing the growth of the chaeto in the ARID reactor.

As far as a CaRx feed pump goes, a quality variable speed peristaltic pump like a Masterflex or Watson Marlow will allow you to precisely dial in your effluent flow rate with no worries of the effluent line clogging, like when a need valve is used for effluent control.

Thanks Water Dog, the ARID reactor is designed to be plumbed in with my CR. I have a Sicce pump to feed from my sump but i was looking specifically for someone who has the ARID E18 to chime in as there are several connections between the CR and the algae reactor.

Check out this video... although they’re talking about the newer generation ARIDs, they do briefly touch upon the CaRX connection feature. I’d email them directly with your your questions though.

Yeah I saw that video, I did email the company. Waiting for a response. It's weird how little information is available as this product has been around for a while. Usually instruction manuals are easy to find on line.
