I would like to hear more about distinct differences between similar zoanthids that make them different. The AOGs, DAs, and Goochsters, are similar with pictures of each intermixed on Coralpedia.
For example, the tell tale trait of the AOGs seems to be their lack of a wide dark band around the center and thin streaks/lines of black radiating out from the center. DAs appear to have the dark center with a secondary ring around it, while Goochsters have no dark band in the center and no lines of black coming out of the center. Is this correct ??
The problem with Coralpedia, and mind you I'm glad they're there, is that in the vast majority of cases there are no descriptions with the pictures. On some of the easily confused IDs a simple side by side comparison would show the difference.
And the intermixing of photos in the different types doesn't help at all. The last two pictures by "jody grow" are clearly different than the others and appear to be Devils Armor.....

Oh heck, I forgot all about the Armageddons which have no dark band in the center and no lines coming from the center, but a ring around the midway point with two streaks of black through the ring directly across from each other.....

I just ran across this pic at ReefFarmers.....it looks like a Devils Armor having a wide dark center, but they note it as being an Armor of Gods....
