Arrow crab doing weird stuff

What is this thing doing, filter feeding or something? It’s opened some weird flap looking thing where I imagine its butt might be. Lol has anyone ever seen this?

I thought that too but he can like fold it back in. If you zoom in it kind of looks like gills or something.

Yeah, they’ll both have it but from what I understand they will be different shapes, I believe the females is round while the males is more shaped, but don’t quote me on that

Crabs have tails.... No seriously. They are tucked up underneath so well that they look like a piece of their carapace. They can be used for sexing. Females look like a hill and males look like a spike. They can unfold them from underneath but it is usually done for breeding. Google crab tails.
