Just pulled the trigger on one of these fabulous tanks the 50 gallon. They are truly a work of art. I will be transitioning My 28g to this so look for it for sale soon. The rear chamber is extremely large and can fit anything.

I got it in black wrap

Thanks @Incredible Corals and @ArtFully Acrylic

First question...
Tunze 9012 or ghost fullsize?
Both will fit with lid on.

Give me experience on what you know of and what you would choose and why.

That's one good lookin AIO, after seeing this and their new Drop Off collection I'm very impressed with the work! Cant wait to see the progress on this tank.

O it fits trust me... lol there is a lot of space back there. But yea ghost I think it is.

Are you referring to the space in the chamber or in the tank itself? The images look quite deceiving. If it's the chamber, I think the return portion would be in the way. I'm telling you, it's a big skimmer. Did you take the measurements and measure or did you try one and know for sure it fits?
Either way, the 9012's impellers have a 60% failure rate, and I definitely wouldn't go with them. It's a great skimmer when mine works.

am i the only ones that read the ghost skimmers are kinda crappy. if you have the space im sure there are better options . those hydor slim skims used to get real good reviews a while back , but maybe things have changed .. aquamax hob but if you got the room i feel ya.. something in the back is what ya want ..

Yea I can conseal both options within for a super clean look. I have the aquamaxx on a 28g and while i think it's the only way to go on a hob skimmer its just not what I'm aiming for on this route. No you're not the only one that thinks they're a little crappy I heard the mid size and the desktop or the better and the full size are just ok. Which is why I was asking but in this case it seams the ghost is a little less "crappy" lol. I have thought of hydor but almost immediately nicked it off as just inferior. Maybe I should get opinions on that. Plus ghost is recirculating so water fluctuations won't affect it as much.

well with that size chamber i believe you may have a couple more options .. read more reviews on both is best idea ,sound coem into play?, what pumps are used.

New versions of quite one. 317gph a peice I believe

I would've gone with the Tunze anyway. They will absolutely get the issue resolved. Best customer service in the industry. Well Tunze and ArtFully Acrylic. I've got an AIO-16 on the way. Adam couldn't have been more attentive to my many questions.

The tank's returns are the newest Quiet One Pro Series 1200's so you got it....rated at 317gph at 0ft....about 20gph faster than the old version, but these are also QUIETER!! =)

Oh wow. To be compared with Tunze for customer service. We only hope for a reputation like that =). But we certainly try our darndest to be an american manufacturer providing the service that everybody deserves!! Thanks again for the kind words!
