Article Content vs Discussion Content

I wrote an article a while ago. I updated it and made some edits on the article page by scrolling to the bottom of the article and clicking edit:

This works just fine. However, when I click over to the "discussion" tab and see the article in post/thread-form, the edits did not carry over:

Is there any way to synchronize the content that is in the article with the post or thread version of the article? Or do I have to make the same edits to both the article and the thread version?

That is not automatic; it must be manually done. (and it's been done now)
