I had a handful of small pieces of Reef On The Rocks brand artificial live rock left over from a 6 gallon that I broke down and I put them in my current tank. For some reason they are the only rocks in my tank with bubble alage on them. The 20 pounds of real LR have none. So last night I decided I was going to take out the artificial pieces and scrub them down in ro water but when I got them out of the tank they had a really bed fishy smell so I just tossed them. I don't have any of these issuse on the rest of my reef.

just take it as a lesson, and leave them out of your tank, or you could put them into your refugium, and harvest whatever algae grows on them, and use it to help with nutrient removal from your system
