A few weeks ago I posted about a 125 gallon tank I found on Craigslist and someone requested pics when I got it set up. After a lot of work and money spent, it's up and running. I dumped pretty much everything that came with the tank except for the tank itself, the stand, the LR and the lights. Got it filled and fired up on Saturday and already it's teeming with life. The rocks are already purpling up, I've got thousands of copepods, numerous bristle worms and spaghetti worms and I spotted an amphipod in the refugium this morning. This kind of shocks me because the rock sat in unheated, high salinity water in a basement for 4-6 weeks. I'm wondering if I'm even going to have much of a cycle since the rock pretty much died off in the basement and my test numbers look pretty good for a new tank.

Some of the equipment I have includes: Eshopps R-300 sump/refugium, Tunze 9410 skimmer, Tunze Osmolator 3155 ATO, 2 Aquatop CPS-24 circulating pumps, BRS dual carbon/gfo media reactor, 2 Fluval E300 heaters, Simplicity DC return pump, etc.

The only thing I regret is that the tank was so covered in coralline algae that I didn't see how badly scratched the glass is on the inside before I bought it. Oh well. I just look past the scratches and search the rocks for new and exciting critters.

Looking good. Congrats on getting it up and running. It won't take long and you won't even notice the scratches - you'll be looking at all your inhabitants!

Thanks for the comments. Got a handful of snails for the DT and some Chaeto for the 'fuge yesterday at the LFS. The proprietor there agreed that my tank probably won't cycle and I should be ready for fish soon. I'm still going to take it slow though.

Wow that's a beautiful tank! great buy!
