Yes st patricks!tracked them down from the article,according to the source in Indonesia their divers have not found any more
Since, not often I see something I've never seen before,had to have them
I was surprised that they are a solid coral like sps when they are evidently in the zoa family.

interesting,they do fold over a bit in flow so i guess they are at least bendable

It is irresponsible to buy something that is so rare that by collecting it is no longer found in that habitat. This kind of behavior has no place in responsible reefing!!

Just because he said that the divers haven't found anymore doesn't mean that their isn't any. If it was factually the last living one then I would 100% agree with you but I highly doubt it is or the people that found it wouldn't have sold it to him. Just my 2 cents though... either way I think it is a beautiful piece and hope it is well taken care of. [emoji106][emoji106]

The fact that they are collecting without knowledge of the sustainability of their collecting is irresponsible

If I was gonna point a finger then it would be at the divers that pulled it to start with. To me they would be to blame, not the OP for wanting it. Everyone wants something nobody else had... that's just human nature.

Yes and it's human nature that is destroying the planet. It's supply and demand. If people buy it they will collect it. There are plenty of cool aquacultured and maricultured corals available. There is no need to be buying wild caught corals. Leave that to the responsible aquaculture professionals

And how do you think the aquacultured corals got there start? They were picked from the ocean and grown in tanks.
