Almost 2 years ago I was at my LFS. I mentioned that I might like to try a garden eel. Two weeks lateer, There was a garden eel at LFS. So I asked them to hold him for me a couple of days. So I can setup some sand in the tank. The tank is a 50gl. breeder bear bottom. I set up a divider at one end of the tank 9"×18" and filled it with sand.
I went back and pickup the garden eel and he took to the sand right away. Before I brought him home. I did check with Google on how to care for a garden eel. Basic good information. Over time I learned that the tank was to Chaotic with the fish I had in there. After a year and a half I decided I want to add a few more garden eels. I rehomed most of the fish. Added a lot more sand to better accommodate the eels. So, now I have 3. A few days ago I was thinking that I do not know how long they live for so I google it.

I would like everyone to take out their cell phones and ask Google. What is the lifespan of a marine garden eel?

A lot of websites are saying 35-40 years.
