Assemble pump

How does this reassemble!? I took it apart to clean and I cannot figure out how to fit it back together? Does NOT snap easily in!
My tank has been without circulation for an hour now trying to figure this out. I feel so dumb.

its a twist on, put white on blue at angle, then twist. like a cap on a bottle

no stupid questions here. I've done this myself a few times, reassembled equipment and found myself with extra parts. It happens
