This snail was on the front glass and I saw that he was covered with something that doesn't look too good.... Any help appreciated!

Bad guy.
Take out carefully, keep bubbles intact.
If it gets to the point where you can’t get it out by hand, Vibrant worked well for me, took out 100% in 16 weeks.

Thanks All! The links and advice are appreciated. I didn't put the snail back in the tank. I see a foxface in my future with some crabs, along with careful physical removal. Really don't want to resort to chemical warfare so going homeopathic first.

In my experience, bubble algae is the easiest "pest" algae to deal with (quotations b/c I've seen it for sale with other macros).
Manual removal is the best. And don't worry about "spreading spores" if they pop in the tank... What makes it come back is if pieces of the bubble's 'shell' remains on the rock. I have it in my frag tank and routinely take out a few clusters and feed them to the foxface in my display... He loves them :)
