Asterina Farming

Hey All,

I'm thinking about farming asterina starfish for a harlequin shrimp. Could I just make a little DIY box and put it in the sump apart from the DT? How should I best feed the starfish that I'm going to farm? Thanks!

They are going to eat film that needs light. The best way to keep them is in a full-blown reef tank without a predator.

FWIW - I had a tank with probably one hundred thousand asternias (you could count 500 on a square foot of front glass. A mated pair of Harlequin Shrimp devoured all of them in about a year. You are going to need a lot. Chocolate Chips, and the like, might be a better bet.
