Asterina? Friend or for?

Some starfish that get lumped under "asterina" will eat corals, but most of them are largely harmless unless starving. They may overpopulate a bit and be unsightly in some tanks. Likely nothing you need to worry about.
 
Here's what was told to be years ago.....the white/light colored ones are reef safe. I had these and never noticed any problems with them eating corals. Now the black/dark ones supposedly are the coral eaters. I never had the black/dark one, so can't say for sure.
