So I have this little 3 gallon AquaTop zen nano sitting around doing nothing. I was thinking it might be cool to make it a pico tank. My kiddo likes sea stars (except for brittle stars) but the only ones I can think of that might do well in my pico are asterina stars, which I know many consider pests.

What do you think--anyone ever do an asterina-focused tank? [emoji848] Would they multiply out of control in a small tank?

I think they would only continue to multiply as long as there are excess nutrients available. You would be surprised at how many non-fish people see my tank and point out the "cool" Asterinas lol. My kids seem to enjoy them also.

I'm imagining everybody says "ohh look at the cute baby starfish!" [emoji1]

Slick idea, and pictures if it gets setup please. If the starfish get outta hand maybe you can find yourself someone locally with a harlequin shrimp. They would probably be eternally grateful for another food supply source that doesn't involve buying a larger type starfish every week or so from a LFS.

Great idea, @Dancingmad! [emoji106]
