I added a BTA a couple weeks ago. It moved a little, found a nook in the rock and has been hanging out there with no movement since and seems happy.

Today an Asterina came near it and immediately it’s on the move out of the area.

Is this coincidence or can these starfish bother/harm an anemone?

I think it's more of a coincidence. I have tons of those stars in my anemone tank. Occasionally I'll pick them off of the glass and feed them to the anemones. I'm not sure if they actually eat them but I do see a feeding response.

i'd go with pure coincidence. BTA's 'like' to move. I've had a BTA sit in the same spot for a couple of years, then decide one night to walk(stinging all in its path). As a result i set up a nem tank for my CSB's they randomly move; some just a few inches (rotating between spots) couple others will move all around the tank on their whim.

Thank you all.

Watching it navigate its way around its wild seeing it use its tentacles to feel along its path as it goes.
