Asterina Starfish chewed on my Cynarina

I noticed one night a small Asterina starfish on a Cynarina... early in the night it was on one spot, later it moved to a second spot. I didn’t think much of it until the next few days. I noticed the next day small white areas on the coral where the starfish was... then a few days past and the coral’s flesh changed... my pics show the coral a few weeks later. See the dark areas. This coral was beautiful with no blemishes before I noticed the starfish. Ugh!!
