I have these stars in my tank for a while and I haven't seen any coral eating ones. What do these guys eat? What temperatures can these guys survive in? Would they eat hair algae? Thanks guys!

There all good for our tanks imo, I'm not sure if they eat hair algea or not but my guess is no. Im sticking around for this one to see what kind of algea people think they eat

film algae or bacteria and barely any they are not the most voracious little critters. My six line wrasse tears through them like sweet cornbread though he is one bad **** "not compatible with any other swimming creature"

It's been the consensus around here for a while that the pure white ones are harmless algae-eaters, but the ones with color may well eat your coral.

Hahahaha I had quite a few in my tank and they disappeared. After reading your post I imagine my Melanurus wrasse is responsible.

About 2 years ago my tank was over populated by them to the point that they started eating my zoas and i even found one ontop of a chalice when i removed it i could see a spot where it was eating the chalice so i bought a harlequin shrimp and problem fixed

Fastforward 2 years some how they came back not as before but i see them so today 1-10-14 i went to premium aquatics and lucky me they had a harlequin shrimp so i bought it
