Does anyone out there have a magic bullet for getting rid of asterina? I've been fighting these #@%%&$%$ things for years and I'm over it. I've been siphoning but you always miss some. Harlequin really don't seem to make a dent. I must be doing something wrong.

Help.

i wouldnt worry about them. there are litterally thousands of different species of those tiny stars, and only 1 or 2 have an apetitite for zoanthids.

and differentiating b/w all the species is nearly impossible even for the experts.

I kinda like mine here is a 5 point star that is eating off the glass. The ones I have only eat what is dead, dieing or algae off the rocks and glass.

Mine just munch on coraline and irritate the zoos. I've never seen them eat a zoo but they just multiply like crazy.

Harliquen Shrimp I dont know if I am spelling it right or a bumblebee shrimp they are known to feed on starfish. But make sure you dont have any special ones in your tank otherwise they are lunch.

I would only get a Harlequin shrimp if you have a large and never ending supply of starfish. They eat contantly and will die quick with out stars.(which is all they eat) I have a pair and have to buy a large chocolate star every two weeks.
