Hi everyone. I just found one of these little starfish in my tank. They're white and the size of a dime. Will it bother my zoas? I can't find it now to get it out of the tank.

They are known to attach to zoas and may be eat them .. id take them out for sake of peace of mind ..

you can put a harlequin in a 12 g but you will have to feed him starfish once all the asterina are gone

Yikes. The problem is finding it. I think it came along with some new coral I recently purchased. I should have caught it when I saw it.

If you have one asterina star, chances are you have more. I have seen them eat polyps, and I have seen them do no harm. Not sure if there is different types, try to get it out. If you find you have more than a few ( which you probably do) get a halequin and trade it out when there are no more asterina. GL :)

there are 100's of sifferent kinds of these starfish most are harmless, but if it has any color spots on it, it will eat corals.

It looks pure white.
