Astraea Snail, with a parasite?

Hello,

I’m new to the hobby and got a Couple of Astraea Snails. The one in the picture has a weird thing growing out of it, and when I try to remove it, it retracts into the shell.

the snail also hasn’t really moved at all since I got it (14 hours ago)

does anyone have any thoughts?

Kind of looks like aiptasia. Could be some kind of anemone as well.

Definitely uptasia remove snail

Agree on aptasia. You could probably kill it with super glue, take the snail out and glue over where the nem is.

You can keep the snail and simply place snail in a small container of tank water and scrape the aptasia off its shell

I tried scraping it off, but the dang thing just retracts into the shell. I just brought it back to the fish store.
