Astrea Snails

Some dood in town is selling snails for .65 a piece. About to stock the future 59gallon worth of snails. How many do you think the tank needs. I'm thinking 9. Any ideas? Probably 2" sand bed.

You want a variety but as far as astreas go...everyone has their own opinion.
If it was my tank I would do two turbos, maybe 3 astreas, 3-4 trochus, and 2-3 nassarius

Nine is a lot in my opinion. Remember that you have to flip these guys over daily.

+1... minus the turbos just yet, IMO. I don't add them unless there is something visible for them to eat and then I only add them one at a time.

Dang it I was thinking they were nassarius. The ones that hide in the sand.. ya crabs ate some of my other astreas

My wife wanted jolibee so an hour away I found one and also found an aquarium store.

Looks like there is a good selection..
