Hey everyone, I'm currently in process of starting up my 135g heavy sps tank, I'm talking 40+ frags going in. I will need to keep my water as clean as possible. With that being said, I like to be aggressive feeding my sps corals. (oyster feast) I also plan on a school of anthias and a couple other wrasses. So i will be feeding 3 times a day maybe more.

So my question is which will be a better fit? I was leaning towards the bk until i read reviews on the 1050. but recently I've been told that the 1050 will be too much skimmer for my setup.

What do you guys think? Any input will help

Why not the atb 840? Will work for your size and I absolutely love mine. Best skimmer I have ever had.

I dont like the pump on the 840, but i hear its a great skimmer. With me having the anthias plus all those sps frags i want something that will be overkill

I am not really going to help matters because my choice would be the bubble king! The performance and quiet operation of the Bubble King is better than anything I have had the pleasure of owning before.

The 200 deluxe was my 1st choice, but comparing customer service and part replacement made me change my mind.

I'm going with the elegance, I really like the 1050 because the pump is on the outside of skimmer but I haven't heard one bad thing about its performance of the elegance.

I agree that skimz is up there too. Just not the 204. the 252 kone e series is what a friend of mine has and it runs right up there with a bubble king or ATB

maybe the 252 but not the 204
they make an elegance 200 regular. pump is on the outside of that model. i will say sometimes i wish my pump was on the outside but then again i would need a larger sump

I actually had the skimz 181 cone before I bought the atb 840. Skimz was nice, but I agree, not even in the same league...

OP. just make sure you don't go TO overkill.....It's not about over skimming, it's about not giving the skimmer enough of a bioload for it to work at optimal levels.
