My new pump arrived today. I was dancing when I saw another ATB shirt in the box with it.
I'm going to have to buy another ATB product. My wife is trying to steal this one from me...
I can't wait to get moved and set all my toys up.

evad1,
I saw you have the media reactors. I don't run GFO's, but do run carbon.
How much carbon does the small reactor roughly hold?

the 90w rating is from the manufacturer and the red dragon pump is from the same manufacturer, both are laguna 1500 pumps with unions and stands put on them, the wattage varies depending on head-pressure and friction but is usually around 57w just like the RD :) At 1/3 the price ;).

the bigger models have custom volutes and some of the RD ones have cooling loops.

the flowstar is the way to go with back pressure it will probably only be running at 50 to 60 watts.I put my hand in front of mine and it drops right down to 65 watts:D

here is a quote from RC regarding wattage.

I wonder if primium acuatic could do a test between both and test the watts for us to see if they are actually the same

It would be cool if a vendor did that, unfortunetly premium does not carry ATB they sold a few econos that they got thru coralvue but coralvue isn't selling the ATB line anymore.
