Hi all, Is the purple spectrum in the ATI true actinic the same as the UV in the LED lights such as radion and hydra?

I am currently running my tank on 4 blue plus with reefbrite supplemental and a 250w radium.

so the question is, what bulb should i change/add to get more "UV" in the tank?

thanks

You have plenty UV from the 250W Radium and the t5s. No need more.

Actinics will give you more in the 420nm range. It won't look more violet ambience wise as there is some green mixed in the spectrum to create a whiter look vs the old school actinic VHO bulbs which were more a full spiked violet. Make no mistake though the corals will recieve more 420nm violet than you have now with your current setup.

If you want a more ambient/visual look of violet you can look into all UV type strips. I think Orphek has one. Some other companies have some mixed blue/violet strips as well.

The reason is I used to run Hydra with 100% UV and there are great growth in the nano tank. I want to replicate that to my bigger tank which is T5/MH.

supposing the orphek can get the "100% UV" , I will get it right away. I believe there is just one on sale in the selling forum
