Hey everyone, I currently own the old style ATI Bubble Master 250 with 2 x psk 2500 with mesh mod and love it, but was wondering if there are better pump upgrades/mods for this skimmer? I read the psk 1000? But then read they actually have less air draw than the psk 2500?

Sicce Syncra is more akin to the old 2500 pump, the 1000 is more. Plus they do not have the restart issues and the going backwards issues as well. The Tunze 9420 is comparable as well.

When I had my BM 250, I did the swap with the psk 1000 pumps.
Worked perfectly.
Didn't have any of the startup issues the 2500 had.

When last using my BM 250 I was using PSK 600's. The only reason I'm not using this skimmer now is it doesn't fit in my current sump but I bought one when it first came out 10 or so years ago and probably went through 3 sets of pumps. The old meshwheel design was really hard on them but even the newer sicce pumps only lasted a few years before the failed. Knock on wood I have a reef octopus skimmer that is not in the same class but uses a sicce pump that has been going for quite a few years.
