I made a 4 bulb 60" T5 fixture to replace my 72" Maristar. I have 2 Blue +, 2 Coral + and 1 Purple +. I am going to start with:

Front
Blue+
Purple+
Coral+
Blue+

If it's too dark I will replace the Purple+ with a Coral+, I just don't know which order or if it even matters.

Blue+
Coral+
Blue+
Coral+

Or

Blue+
Coral+
Coral+
Blue+

Opinions? Tank is 18x18x72 and is a FOWLR right now.

How blue do you want it? Ati has a good recommendation on their site. They have three color temp profiles. I didn't like the purple plus, but I don't like purple really. I have 4 blue plus, and two coral plus on my tank.

I have coral + and blue + in the Maristar now and I like it. I quit using the halides last year so the 4x36" bulbs are a little too dark. I am going to give the purple a go, it just depends on how dark it is. ATI recommends 2 blue + and 2 Coral + to stay in the 12k to 16k range. So which would be best, both coral + in the middle or every other? Thanks

To help eliminate any confusion about this post, I am asking about the arrangement of the bulbs in the fixture not about ordering new bulbs. I already have the bulbs and am just seeking input on how to arrange them In the fixture.

For 4 bulbs, I don't think it matters as long as it's not all on one side. They're extremely diffuse light sources and by the time it hits the water they're already blended.
