I just got an email from BRS saying that they now have in stock the new "ATI Coral Plus bulbs." They say that the coral plus bulbs are a bluer version of the aqua blue special bulb. They say it like an aqua blue special bulb and a blue plus bulb mixed together, so Im gonna guess that is gonna be something like an 18k or 20k day bulb. If anyone here has already tried them please let me know, otherwise I guess I will have to get 1 to try on my daughters aggressive tank and see how it looks. I need to change her bulbs anyway, lol.

I'm thinking of swapping out my white bulb and trying this one out. I hope it's better than the aquabluespecial. never liked the look of that one.

ordered 2 for my Hybrid LED/T5 setup 120LED's/2-80W ATI Coral Plus.... ordered like 3days ago so I suspect they will come in maybe sometime next week..... cant wait!!!

I ordered one last night...

Nice. When it comes in and you try it, please let me know what you think, thanks.

Very nice. Please post some pics when you get it in, thanks.

I ordered one today, should be here Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Couldn't find much first hand experience (ok, none except for the few articles on them), going to try replacing one of my aquablue specials with it.... if it's too blue, I'll swap it back out and replace the purple plus.

I like the aqua blue special light but for my daughters tank I want it a little more blue. She has an aggressive fowlr tank with a 3 bulb t5 light. I was thinking about putting 2 blue plus bulbs and 1 coral plus. I bought the fixture from someone in my reef club and right now it has freshwater plant bulbs in it and it is ridiculously bright. And since I upgraded her tank to a 75g it doesnt really fit in her room, I decided to put it in my living room. But with the plant lights that are in it now its so ridiculously bright that it is very annoying when trying to watch tv. So I figured with the 2 blue plus and a coral plus it should hopefully dim it down a bit.

I ran only Blue+ and Purple + in my ATI 6 bulb, and the purples seemed to briing out the warmer colors in the tank. Liked the look way better than when I had an ABS in the unit, and plenty of PAR for SPS.

It's an iPhone pic, so isn't too accurate but I'll post it anyway when I get home. I've heard of a lot of people running the same combo. The purple adds a bit of white to the display. Who knows though, the Coral Plus might be the way to go. I can't say since I've never seen them

I havent seen them either. I am just going by what the description on BRS said. They said the coral plus is like an aqua blue special and a blue plus combined. I am hoping it will be something like an 18k. I think that plus 2 blue bulbs should be a nice color........... hopefully, lol.

Well I got mine in a couple days ago...

The bulb is much more white than a blue+. It also has a lot more purple then I expected. It is more white, but very close, to the same color as my xm15k. I would say about 13k with a half of a fiji purple mixed in. Thus bulb also outs out a lot of light, almost drowns out my blue +. I mainly use my iPhone to take pics and not get a representative photo if the tank but I took a shot from above so you can compare the glow from the bulb to a blue+.

The bulb on the left is coral+, the bulb on the right blue +. Color of my corals seem to be the same as under to blue+ bulbs, maybe a little better because reds are slightly better under this bulb. I'd say this bulb will work well for people with two small of a combo to add a purple+ but want a purple hue to there tank, or people wanting to really brighten up their tank as this bulb completely lights the tank by itself.

Thanks,
Brandonius the Conquerer

I traded out an ABS for a Coral Plus. I now have 1 of each- ABS, Blue plus, Coral Plus, Purple Plus.

here's with 2 ABS, blue plus, and purple plus-

And here's one with the coral plus in place of one of the abs-

For me, it's the perfect combo. It's not too blue, not too bright (visually), and the coral plus seems to have a good spectrum.

Just got my 2 bulbs today, finally lol.... im going to put them on and take some par reading with and without the bulbs to see how much of an extra punch they provide.

Will also take some pics of with and without the coral plus.

Nice pics guys.

I was running 2 blue plus and 2 aqua-science 15000k but recently switched out the 15000ks for a coral plus and fiji purple... cant believe how white the tank is now, pretty much washes out the blue plus, hopefully its a good thing and my corals will like. I will leave it in for awhile and see how my corals do but honestly not liking the colors.

Wow! Im surprised that it whitened the tank up that much. Post some pics so we can see the lights in action.

I have been running one for two weeks now and really like the change. It is considered a white bulb even though it looks purple to the naked eye. The bulb has alot of blue and red in it, giving the purple color.

I have tried purple plus in the past and hated it due to it giving my tank a pink color even with plenty of blue plus. This bulb is kinda like a toned down purple plus with more blue in it that the purple plus lacks.
