ATI Dimmable Fixture Question

Is it critical to follow the first 50 hour burn in process for this fixture?

Is it for the fixture or the bulbs?

I had this same question before I bought the dim. Per ATI CS, the 50 hrs burn-in is for the bulb not the fixture. If it is not done the bulbs will not dim reliably and bulb lifespan is shorten.

The ATI dimmable t5s are sick! Don't hesitate to buy one

What kind of stress do those bulbs go under? How much shorter life span do they have compared to reg T5 lamps?

Just bought one and been running for only a few days. It is a well quality built and the craftsmanship is excellent. The built in-controller is easy of use. Once I hang this thing and fire it up. All worries and concerns are gone.

Awesome man! Glad u pulled the trigger on it there amazing fixtures, Don't worry about hearing a few people question the dimmable aspect of it because there awesome plain and simple, There's always negative comments from people that have never tried something

Btw that comment wasn't directed at anyone on this thread just letting him know there will be some people downing the light that have never tried it or just can't afford it

And your tank looks great! Really like the look of those ATI fixtures

it is for bulb life, (I just did it for my new dimmable ATI 8 bulb fixture), but my question is, I stagger the replacement of my bulbs, so how am I going to burn each bulb in prior to installing it in the fixture? Basically, I think that a lot of people just don't sweat this rule.

For what it is worth, I did the 50 hour burn in and an ATI Aquablue Special burned out 2.5 weeks later. So not a stellar track record for "burned in" bulbs. Might just skip the burn in from here on in.

Thanks for ur comment. I agreed with you there is always some negative comments just abt any lighting fixtures regardless. I am happy to switch back to t5 from led, especially, a ATI T5...just cannot goes wrong with the 6 bulbs and little nice built in controller touch. My sticks showed less brown now and start to color up again at the tips just after a week of running.

I got two additional blue plus bulbs yesterday and did played around with many diff combos. After many changes, I settled with these ati bulbs for now and very happy with the color; three blue pluses, one coral plus, and two true actinics.c Both true actinic bulbs set as sunrise/sunset for channel 1, these two bulbs make the softies pop in coloration like never tomorrow...insane wow color, IMO...but very little par though. Per channel 2, as a daylight Chanel, I have three blue pluses and one coral plus. When all six bulbs fire up, it gives a really awesome crisp not too dark blue.

They are still at burning-in period as recommended by ATI and will run for another week b4 play more with the controller. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the results.

I am using the Cadlights tree lamp hanging fixture for my ATI T5. The tank is also an Artisan II 100g Cadlights.

What type of hanging brackets are you using?
I'm using the lamp tree brackets from Cadlights. Very cleaned hanging brackets, IMO.

My sump is nothing special just like everyone else here. It is a 30g sump and equipped with these following equipments:

- Bubble magnus doser for mag, Alk, and cal
- Cadlight protein skimmer
- Innovative Marine Biopellet reactor
- TLF carbon reactor
- Cadlights led light for the fuge, and
- Innovative Marine hydrofill ato system

How high do you have your lamp tree above tank and how high is your fixture above water. Super clean set up. I just ordered my ati fixture and have a DSA 105 which is about the same measurements as your tank.
