I recently purchased a several month old ati sun power dimmable (6 bulb 36") and am having some issues with it.

The first issue I had was it running constantly in safe mode, but I was able to find the solution online and that has not been a problem since.

The second issue which I am still trying to figure out is that 2 of the bulbs do not come on when programmed (bulb 6 and 4). The 2 bulbs that do not come on are on different channels. I have double checked the settings and am certain that everything is programmed correctly.

If I unplug the unit and plug it right back in everything comes on and stays on until the controller is set to turn them off. So to test if it was an issue with the bulbs I switched bulb 6 with 5, and 3 with 4.

Now the confusing part. This morning bulb 6 was working and 5 was out (seems to indicate the bulb) but both 3 and 4 were working and bulb 2 was out (never had an issue with this one!).

I contacted ATI and they gave some general advise, with a form to send it to them if needed, but I really don't want to do that if possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

PDR like u said it's a "several months used ATI sunpower " IMHO it's time for a factory service and tune-up, just send them the unit and will be better than when was brand new and if possible have a set of new bulbs then life will be just EASY, lol.
P.D. If ur bulbs are pretty much new then off course no replacement needed.

Do people really send in their fixtures every 4-5 months? That seems a bit excessive. Also I believe the issue was a bulb that was on its way out that was causing the other bulb on the same circuit to go out as well. I have one ordered and ill see how that goes.

I've had the dimmable 4 bulb fixture for about 5 months now and l love it. No problems at all. I rented a par meter from my LFS a week after the light was up and this is what I got.
Light is 9 inches from the waterline the tank is 17" deep.
Ch1 90% ch2 80%
4" down par 600
8" down 390
12" 300
Sand 250
These were taken right in the middle of the light straight now. I will be going back to the LFS to get their par meter and do the test again. Will keep you updated.

Yeah I 2nd sending it in and getting it fixed and hopefully you'll never have a problem with it again.
