I brought my lights down because I had to trouble shoot a couple of bulbs not turning on. I moved some bulbs around fix the problem. But when i was looking down on top of my fixture I noticed some dust in my fans. I started to clean the fans and found a lot of dust, anybody clean there fans?

Hi,

I also find a light blast from a keyboard cleaner can helps keeps maintenance minimal if done on a regular basis. Just don’t blast it directly in.

So I've had this fixture running for 2.5 years in my dinning room. My windows are open all summer long I try to keep them closed when the pollen is strong.

mind swingin by and doin mine when ya finish yours?:p

seriously though those to hard plastic button looking things are the clips that hold the fan assy. in the soft rubber ones hold the fan to the ati square, pretty easy to remove...
I'll give that a try tomorrow, thanks.

Wow! Those needed a good cleaning. I try to take mine down ~6 months.

My computer is close to my tank so I spray air in there once in a while, but it still built up.

You need to remove the fans and clean them up. Remove the black pins on the side...
Here is the video that teaches how to replace the fans, so you know how to remove it:

Best thing is to vacuum them every month or so. That way it doesn't accumulate.
Be careful with the wires when you remove your fan. The part attached to the fan tends to come apart because of the humidity.

So weird that ATI made it that complicated to remove.... a fan. Why not screws or something.

You will be missed :(
