I just got my first ATI ICP test results. ATI says my Alk is 8.84dkh while my Hanna always says it’s 7.5-7.62...who do I believe? I am trying to keep it around 7.5. Thanks.

Simple cross reference it with another test (Elos salifert red Sea)Also ghl makes a reference 7.5 all for testing your equipment.

Thanks for the information. I like the idea of using the reference to check the equipment. I also ordered a Salifert kit to compare.

I also have hanna reference bottles. You are in BAR right let me know you can test it on your Hanna checker.

My Salifert is always about 1 dkh higher than my Hanna DKH. I am waiting for my ATI results and was hoping it would tell me which was correct.. guess I can give up on that idea..lol. I did have my LFS test my alk recently with a red sea alk and it was only .4 higher than the Hanna, so for now going with Hanna.

I would not assume the value they get days later is necessarily an accurate representation of the alk when you measured it.

Is there an expected change in alk from sitting in a test tube? Increase, decrease? I received my ATI ICP results overnight and the alk reading was ~.5 lower than my Salifert tests.
