When we start wondering about chemical reactions you know were on the fringe side of the hobby lol

I think caution is never a bad thing. Can't go wrong with dilution when overdosing anything, in this Hobby.

Aggressively skim and a few water changes along with carbon should take care of overdose.

Thanks, I am going to start doing 40 gl a day w.c. Turns out I only have 1 backup heater working... Carbon is a week old, going to refresh that as well. It is in one of the di containers with rox.08 and bituminous half and half.

Not sure what pore size would be best on the carbon to remove excess iodine. Should I go all rox.08?

Says 1ml/100 l raise iodine by 100 ug/l. I have about 1325 l. So my guess is I raised my iodine by 700ish ug/l?

If you raised iodide to 700 ug/l (0.7 ppm), I'd personally ignore it unless the tank is suffering. Algae will take it up fairly fast.

I don't think GAC will do much for it, but it won't hurt.

The fringe! That's the main point of reefing! :D

Just a follow up. Everything is fine.

Had a half dollar size area bleach on my pink milli, and about a quarter size bleach on my other pink tabling acropora. This is only about 5% of the total size of either.

I did one 40 gallon w.c. and ran a two little fishy full of rox 0.8 carbon for about a week. I had it and was panicky when I wrote this initially. Did it help? No clue, but did not hurt. That was also my only water change in months.

My Chaetomorpha did very well though. I tossed a 5 gallon bucket full today. First thinning out since the iodine overdose. This is more than usual but I don’t weigh it or anything. Just toss every couple of week about half that.

So lesson learned is pay attention to decimals!

Thanks for all the replies!
