Im going to order my new DT soon. My LFS has great deals on Marineland tanks. I'd love a beautiful custom but for $1500 with a stand for a 220 you can go wrong imo. (Well unless it breaks or something). So my question is that I plan on running an ati hybrid powermodule. I dont want to have my rock work need to go all the way to the top of the water line. If I had coral(acros/sps) located halfway to 2/3 of the way down in a 30" tall tank will this lighting give me enough par for everything or should I just do a 180 that's 24" tall? Thanks guys

ATI says their Powermodules are good for tanks up to 36" deep, with proper coral placement. So I'm pretty sure you would be fine at 30". At worse, you would have to keep the higher light demanding corals up a little, which you would likely do anyway.

As to 30" vs 24" depth, I think the 24" is just easier to work in, unless you have really long arms! It's obviously a personal preference but that's just my $.02

Thank for your input. Where I'm putting the tank I have to have a 6x2 max footprint. The height I can do whatever so I was just trying to maximize water volume and a tall tank is nice to look at ;)
