I just noticed today that on my older (pre-wifi) 4 bulb 36" Powermodule, most of the fans aren't running. Right now temp of the LEDs is 45-46 C and only one (of 4) fans is operating. Is this normal? No problems with the lights themselves, I noticed while doing something else. For all I know, they've always been like this. I do know 2 of the 4 were running earlier today.

I followed the instructions and reset the setting from 245 to 235 - no change.

@ATI North America

Thanks in advance,

Cindy

Check the wires going to the fans, jve seen it a couple times where the wires break away from the fan from corrosion after years of use.

Can do, and thank you. But I would like to know what normal operation looks like so I know if it's even necessary. Any idea @crab Mcjones?

Not positive. But I believe that all the fans should be running if all the lights are on

All fans are temperature controlled, so they wont always run.

Is it the T5 or LED fans?
Have you tested them with a 9v battery?
If you dont blow them out with compressed air on occasion and they are older they likely failed.

What temperature should they come on at ? How would I go about testing them with a 9v?

I'll have to look and see which fans they are, how would I be able to tell?

Thanks much in advance

Cindy

Only one T5 fan was running when I Iooked last night.

At what temperature should the fans come on?

For anyone reading this looking for help...

Following the directions on the youtube video posted above WILL erase all of your light settings, and crank your LEDs and T5s to 100%. Make sure you save your settings before you do this. I wish I had. Now I have light-blasted, unhappy corals and still no answers to the questions I posted in the very first post: "Is this normal"?

5 posts, advice that changed nothing for the good but still no actual answers to the questions I've posted.

Tonight 3 of 4 fans running. Still don't know if that's good, bad, or indifferent.

Did you ever check the wires from the plug to the fan?

Hi Crabs...

I'm not sure exactly which wires you mean, but I ordered all new fans. 3 of 4 seem to work but I will replace them all as preventative maintenance. I bought this light used a year ago so I figure it's time :)

When I have it open I'll look for corroded or broken wires where ever I can see....

Thank you for your replies :)

Right where the wires go into the fans. I've seen on an 8 bulb ATI fixture, two of the three fans stopped working because the wires corroded away where the wires went into the fans. Just a guess :)

Nothing was corroded but it was pretty dusty in there. I cleaned it out with some compressed air.
