I'm in the process of building my 36 x 18 x 24 high. considering the ATI powermodule 24" fixture or the 36" fixture. which length is recommended? I will have a mixed reef, but mostly sps. My concerns are not enough coverage with the 24 fixture. And light spillage with the 36 size. any pictures and advice would be appreciated.

I am running a 36 inch powermodule hybrid over my 70. Plenty of light. It tails off slightly at the ends but not much at all. I would think the 24 would cover it. Eight bulbs is a lot of light and rated for 70/110 gal.
The 4 bulb is rated for up to 70 gal. I have my light up at 14 inches off the top of the tank so it spreads a lot.

Thank you. I'm not considering the 8 t5 bulb fixture. Its too wide. How many t5 bulbs do you have? I would get a 4 bulb 24 inch or a 36.

I have the eight bulb. It will eventually go over a 120. I would think the 4bulb would do you just fine.

I always use 6 bulbs between 18 to 24 inch tanks, 24" and wider I use 8.
I would also g0 36". T-5 bulb are a little dimmer at the ends I believe.

It also depends on where you plan on putting your corals and aquascaping. The amount of bulbs for t-5 does not really add more light/par it adds coverage.

Thanks. Getting a little off track. My tank is 36x18x24h. I need help choosing from a 24" hybrid with 1 led cluster and 4 x T 5 bulbs. Or a 36"fixture with 2 led clusters and 4x T5s. I don't know if the shorter fixture would cover my 3 ft long tank. Any advice would be helpful.

I am sorry I misread the question. I have a powermodule that is not a hybrid. If you want a fixture that is based more on led the Aurora would be better, if you want a fixture that is more T-5 the ATI is a better choice. Plus Geisemann fixtures are so nice looking. Personally I would go 36" fixture but again depends on placement of corals because going 24 you are going to have less lights on the end.

Thank you. I'm considering both ATI hybrid and the giesemann hybrid. You have a picture of your setup. Thanks

I do not use one right now. Right now I have a white Giesemann Matrixx 2 and a few ATI t-5 fixtures, I also run a few kessils.

I also work in the lighting industry.

I also plan on getting the Giesmann Aurora. The 24" fixture to go over a 50g cube is what I'm leaning towards, but may end up with a reefer 250 or 350.
I have seen some tanks with this light and it is absolutely stunning when dialed in correctly.

Looks like I'm leaning towards 36" aurora.

Take a look at Broadfield's Red Sea Reefer 450 Build thread if you havn't already seen it. (In the member tanks section) He is currently using the Giesmann Spectra, but at one point he was using the Giesmann Aurora. He said that they were great. Pic of his tank with the light is around page 30 or something if I remember. You could also message him about the lights and he could probably answer any questions you have about them.

I wonder happened to the Giesemann Genesis? it is supposed to be a little more updated but at a lower price point.
