85% is going to push some pretty hard PAR. Have you had a chance to compare PAR to your previous fixture(s) ?

Yes I tested par with the 510 meter from LFS only 400 par at the top of corals.

More important is the differential between your original light(s) and the Straton(s). Or is this a new setup?

At 9" at 75% I get about 360 - 400 with turbulence. This is in the LPS setting though.

I would look back at the PAR test results that @Reef-Engineer did at the beginning of the thread. That may help you choose which test value to lean toward.

I’ve had these lights for a few months. Last lights were on similar preset without the blue look in the morning and evening. I don’t know enough about lighting needs of corals so I’ve always use a preset that I like to look at. So I’m going to turn the blue nodes down to 0% and add a few nodes of the white looking lights ramp up and down with all the same spectrum nodes. Is that fine or is there a better way to get rid of the blue look? And with your best guess what % should get me 400 par top of corals? Thanks.

I think the preset sps has blue in the spectrum witch I would not mess with just during the ramp up and down it’s really blue looking. The preset has different colored nodes and it’s only in the ramp that is too blue for my liking.

I don't have a Straton so take this for what it is worth...go with the Straton. I had Radions and liked them. They are a good light for sure but the Starton looks to be the next evolution in LED lighting

Having the same thought , my LFS also running everything on stratons , no fan , more coverage, and are almost 200 € cheaper

Went from 5 G5 XR30 Blues to 4 Stratons

1. Mobius is junk, woke up to my lights being on at 100% or one light would lose sync and do what it wants

2. Silence, this is a big deal for us as the tank sits in the living room, we could hear the fan noise at peak lighting

3. Much better PAR coverage, reduction in hot and low spots

4. SPS color is much better along with growth, I will say my LPS did struggle from the change but has all recovered. I believe this relates to much more PUR even though the PAR was the same, my recommendation is start with a bit lower PAR than what you had of swapping to these lights and ramp from there. I had a 15% uptake in alk.

5. The mounting options do suck for Stratons at least until the bar or brackets ever makes it the US

You can get away with 3 Stratons over an 8’ tank, I went with 4 and run each end light lower for LPS until I sell them all of. I started with 4 G5’s and hated the shadowing

Thank you, If I was concerned over saving a bit of money I would probably go the Neptune Sky route over G5’s personally

The Stratons being cheaper make it an absolute no brainer

Hello Sdot, you can control all of the different color LED groups separately, so you can create pretty much any spectrum you want. They come with a few "canned spectrums" but you can create your own as well. Here are the LEDs they contain that can be controlled individually:

Sorry for the late reply. Spectrum is determine by the leds used.... not referring to "color". Im curious how wide the spectrum is compared to other top LED lights on the market.

I would be willing to purchase 4 of these to try BUT once again mounting options suck. It wasn’t until I got the straton brackets I was happy with them.
