so this is what I am looking to get for my 57 gallon build! im going to step away from LEDs for awhile.

what are the difference between these two fixtures? I was thinking of doing the 6 bulb sunpower

thanks!

About 10% more light out of the power module and some extra money, get the sunpower it is a great light. I've had both lights and and for the price difference alone go with the sunpower. I have not tried the dimmable sunpower yet

thats what I was thinking. and ya ill have to check out the dimmables.

now does it come with a thing so you can set up times to turn on and off?

There is no difference anymore. According to ATI the difference used to be about 5%. But that's when the sun power used bent reflectors and power modules had parabolic reflectors. Now the sunpower uses a parabolic reflector as well. So no difference. I'm looking at a sunpower myself for my 45 cube.

When did they switch to parabolic on the sunpowers?

Extra fans on power module is the difference. Also a sleeker housing.

The extra fans allow for more cooling. That gives slightly more par and will maintain that par over a longer period of time.

Half true. Yes there are more fans on the powermodule only because the aluminum is thicker. Thinner aluminum on the sunpowers mean less fans are need to dissipate the heat. Performance is the same. Additional benefit the sunpower is lighter which is important to note since the unit is meant to be a hanging fixture.
