I'm struggling with this one hard. I do NOT want to hang from the ceiling like at all. I cannot find a good commercial solution for this.

Best thing I've seen is to go to Home Depot, get some Electrical Conduit and a pipe Bender and do a makeshift stand that either mounts to the back of your tank stand or to the wall.

I'm not the greatest on DIY projects like that, ask me to build a tank stand, I got you, all day long LOL. Simple woodworking is fine, doing something off the wall I'm afraid of doing that.

If I do it wrong and it doesn't support the weight properly and then I end up with a $800 fixture in my brand new tank and potentially even crack it as its rimless.

I seriously cannot believe that they have not made a Tank Leg mounting option, I mean ATI Sunpower has been around forever and its a great fixture. How is there not better mounting options?

Ideas/Thoughts?/Help? Lol

You could always look into some generic T5 mounting legs. Coralife and many others have a plastic 4 leg system that mounts to the top of the tank for fairly cheap. You might have to figure out how to attach them securely to your light.

Yea I've looked into that, just doesn't seem like a good solution ya know? At that point I'd rather try my hand with the Conduit from Home Depot solution Lol. I do appreciate the solution offering though! Just not something I want to do.

Did you ever come up with a good solution? I just purchased an 8 bulb Dimmable ATI Sunpower fixture. Thought I would come up with something to mount once I received light and looking for suggestions. I have a tall stand with hood and want to mount it even with the top of my hood to prevent me from seeing bulbs when sitting in my recliner. I have high ceilings and he tank sits diagonal in the corner of my den, so this will be a challenge. Changing from T-5 retro and MH after many years if I can come up with good mounting solution. Any suggestions with pics would be appreciated.

I did this simple little diy project and I promise you if I can do this you can as well no ending needed just used 90 degree elbows on this pipe. Painted all black with spray paint.

@dwair Did you ever resolve your issue? I'm sort of in the same boat trying to upgrade my lighting but not sure how to hang it. Maybe those shelf brackets that mount to the wall would work. Sort of like these(make sure and check out the other options listed on the page); Shelf Brackets

I'm considering these here; More brackets...

I used these to mount my aquatic life hybrid fixture... They are pricey (@ $71.99 plus shipping & tax for 1 arm!) but so far I like them.

One thing to consider is they mount to the stand so if the tank is up and running it will be hard to mount these (but possible, because I did it!). But if the tank isn't running yet they would be a good option. They also sell mounts that go on the wall behind the tank.
