Ati sunpower cooling fan question

So I’m looking at buying a used fixture but the fans aren’t running. Do the fans turn on immediately when the lights are on, or is there some sort of temp sensor that activates the fans?

Dimmable or non dimmable? The dimmable fixture has a temperature sensor that controls the fans. The non dimmable has its own DC power supply so you can turn the fans on/off independently from the bulbs. It also has a voltage selector on the wall wart so you can control the fan speed independently as well.

So how do you control the fan? Do you just put the cooling fan on the same timer as the light or what?

Yes, that will work assuming your ATI is non dimmable. I have my non dimmable ATI Sunpower on my Apex. I have the fans set to go on when the the bulbs turn on. I have the fan turn off 5 minutes after the bulbs go out. Whatever you do, make sure the fans are running when the bulbs are on.
