Hi all,

Unfortunately, my NanoBox Hybrid's fan decided to go on permanent vacation, so I've decided now might be a good time to try something different. My current tank is a Reefer 250 so my question would be:

  • 24" vs 36"?
  • 6 bulb vs 8 bulb?
Current stocking is mostly zoas and LPS, but would like to add in a fair amount of SPS and a clam.

I'd go all out with a tank as nice as that. 36 inches for full coverage and 8 bulbs so you get amazing colorations. Now for SPS they love good lighting as you know so I mean it all depends you can get away with a 6 bulb fixture no problem and have it look amazing. Like 3 ATI blue pluses, 1 coral plus, 1 purple plus, and an aqua blue special or with an 8 bulb do every other one blue pluses and have 2 coral pluses, one purple plus, and one aqua blue special so you get an even distribution of light. Here's the problem. Your gonna have to spend $100+ on bulbs every 8-10 months. Each bulb is around $18-24 so it'll add up pretty quick. If your looking for something to not only pack a punch but last you for a while and be cost effective and easy on your bill get some radions lol. Or hydra 52s or 26s
