Unless you have a diatom problem, I would not worry about the silicate. It is among the easiest things to get through an RO/DI, but it is not a big amount.

If you top off with 1% of the water volume daily, you are adding the equivalent of 2 ug/L each day.

I intentionally dosed 200 ug/L about once a week. It is desirable for sponges and other organisms.

I also would not be sure the Si you detect in your tank is necessarily dissolved silicate, nor that it is necessarily coming from the RO/DI water given the relative amounts.

Ok thanks!

Is there anything else on the report that should be addressed outside of the obvious (calc, alk, mag, sal, nitrate, phos)

In the tank report, the salinity is very low, and that's mostly, but not completely, why potassium is very low.

Are there metal parts in the water? Looks like some. tin, zinc, etc.

Tin is high.

Zinc is high. If dosing it, stop.

Fluoride is high. Not sure if it's an issue.

Aluminum is pretty high.

Not currently dosing anything, what would be the best way to lower these levels?

Have you looked very carefully for any metal parts, float switches, etc?

I have, my only guess is possible leeching from magnets in the tank. I am going to remove it. Any way I can safely remove the metals via carbon or poly filter?

A polyfilter will help. Carbon will have some effect, but maybe not enough.

Question: How often do you test your Salinity. I ask because i just got my result back for Salinity from ATI and my numbers on salinity are a match to yours- HOWEVER i use a refactormeter and calibrate my apex every 6 months both of those items give me a number as follow refactometer approx 36 and Apex 35.5. I intentionally try to run high 36-37. My question/concern is this. Can salt dissipate or reduce after a 10 days also wont temperature effect the reading?
I notice my winter readings for ATI are always lower in the colder months. I test ATI quarterly starting in Jan.

Do you have MarinePure in your tank? My ATI test showed high aluminum and tin. I removed the media and will test again a few weeks.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
