ATK and AOS Updates

Does anyone else have problems with their ATK when an AOS update is released. It seems like every time it happens my ATK blows up and starts throwing errors. then I have to uninstall and reinstall it multiple times to get the sensors working. It happens nearly every single time. In fact its almost like clock work - if my ATK is not working - there is likely an AOS update out there.

I’ve only had a FMM problem after applying AOS 5.05_5A19 back in May 2019. That particular update contained changes to the FMM itself. I posted about my experience in this thread: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/caution-new-apex-aos-update.594089/

After forcing the update on the FMM for a 2nd time it started working normally again.

I have not experienced any FMM problems with the newer AOS releases since then.

As always, I recommend saving a backup of your Apex before installing any updates.

My ATK occasionally stops working. It's not often and may be tied to a new AOS on the way. What works best for me is to disconnect all aquabus/usb cables and the power supply from the FMM (basically, anything that supplies power). I wait for 10 seconds and then reconnect them. The ATK usually works immediately. Updating software doesn't usually get it working.
