ATK V2 - Divorce material or set up wrong?

I have the ATK set up as a stand alone atm while I work on a new stand. The pump spinning up sounds like a chopper taking off, the spray from the anti-siphon is louder than a men’s room trough.

What am I doing wrong? Why is this thing so obnoxiously loud? I’m scaring the dog and family every time it turns on. Divorce imminent.

The Neptune PMUP pump is noticeably louder than say, a Tunze. But it is a solid pump and has been extremely reliable. If you have an Apex you can tweak the programming such that it only comes on during certain times of the day (I did this for a friend so it wouldn't kick-in during the night).

That is a good idea - maybe I can limit time it turns on when I get the new stand and apex up and going. The tank does evaporate what seems like a lot but the chambers are small in the back so it’s probably less than 1/4 gallon.
