Atlantic Blue Tang white spots

I started noticing big white spots on my ABT that’s in qt. He went through 14 days of 2.0 copper power, 14 days of food soaked in gc and focus, and is on the 2nd round of gc in water column. I did a fw dip to see if they would fall off and they didn’t. I’m stumped!! #reefsquad

Does it look like cauliflower?

It looks like lympho to me. There are viruses out there that can cause this type of cottony like growth outside of lympho as well.

Generally all fish will fully recover. Do you add vitamin supplements to your food?

I don't think this is parasitic in nature at all fyi.

Totally looks like lymphocytes to me. That fish has been through a lot of meds. Good food and good clean water and it should be able to beat this on its own.

Just keep that up and try to keep pristine water. The locations aren't concerning at all. Sometimes if near the mouth, or gills it can require manual removal. I bet this will subside on it's own.

Shouldn’t be contagious but make sure that tang is getting access to seaweed every day.

Don’t be too concerned if this stuff takes several weeks to even a few months to clear up. I know it’s aesthetically unpleasing but as Hotrocks mentioned, as long as lympho isn’t located by gills or mouth it’s usually not fatal. This virus often times blocks its own uptake of nutrients which in turn leads to the viruses own death. Hopefully that explains why sometimes it takes a bit of time for the uglies to go away.

If you are through with all treatment then move to the DT, it will likely go away quicker in the DT than the QT anyway.

Update: ABT has been in the DT for less then a week and 2 out of the 4 lympo spots are gone.. thanks for everyones help!
