We went on a Caribbean cruise with some friends, and one of them collected shells. When they went to clean the shells, they noticed that one was an alive snail. See attached picture. I have a reef tank and would like to add it, but wanted to confirm if it’s safe or not. Thoughts?

(note that the snail is outside of the water but the water is not proper saltwater (she uses table salt and tap water))

I would not risk it, there could be so much harmful bacterial growth, dieses and a whole hosts of unknowns growing on this guys shell. You could keep it as a pet separate to aquarium if you wish but honestly I would not add to any aquriam

I would get it in proper salt water and quarantine it until you can properly ID it. Could be reef safe or a good sump cleaner.
Yes, I’m trying to ID it. Any suggestions on how to ID it or what it might be?
