I wanted to get and ato and didnt know which to use. I am a new to the field and thought it would be better to keep things constant as well as my life easier. thanks, Rich

Hi Rich!
IMO...ATOis very important for a nano tank, in keeping water parameters on track. I run the Tunze Nano and love it :)

Welcome to the hobby and as for ATOs you have quite a few options in all sorts of prices. The Tunze mentioned is great, I run a different Tunze ATO on one of my tanks and love it. On my 3.5gal pico, I use a float switch that is controlled by my Apex, same in my 20L. I have also done the Aquahub DIY kit that Bulk Reef Supply has and had good luck with that. I have also heard good things about the Autoaqua Smart ATO systems. There are a lot of good ATO systems out there so shop around and see what fits your budget and size requirements. Don't forget to take head pressure into account when looking at the pump the ATO is using in relation to where your top off bin is located. If you have a specific model in mind and have some questions, then ask away.

wait tomtom do you mean they are not all ok for any system. I have a fluval evo 13.5. didnt realize it mattered depending on the tank that you have

What I mean is some ATOs are larger than others and some may not fit in the back chamber of your fluval. Also, if you put your top off container say in the stand below the tank, you need to make sure that the pump you will be using can move the water all the way up to the tank. Some top off pumps are only good for 3' or so of head pressure.

Idk if my Tunze 3155 would fit in the back but the Tunze nano already listed should. Just things like that to look out for.
